I run my photography business out of my place at House 77 on Road 41 in Punjabi Bagh. It’s a quiet residential street, so it’s a bit different from a commercial studio in a busy market. I’ve lived and worked here for a while, and most of my neighbors know what I do. I have a room set up for editing and storing all my cameras and lights. It’s not a massive operation with a dozen assistants. Usually, it’s just me and maybe one other person helping out with the gear. I spend a lot of my time out on shoots, but when I’m here, I’m mostly sitting at the computer going through hundreds of photos. The house is where I meet people sometimes to talk about their events or look at prints. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, nothing corporate about it. I don’t go for the hard sell. If people like my photos, they hire me. I’ve done all sorts of jobs, from weddings to simple portraits. Every shoot is a bit different, and I try to keep it simple. The gear is heavy and the hours can be long, especially on weekends. But being based in Punjabi Bagh makes it easy to get around to different parts of the city. I’ve got my routine down, and I just try to take decent pictures that people will actually want to keep. It's a lot of work but I enjoy it.
