Aajeevan Self Support Association

Aajeevan Self Support Association operates out of Nanglivihar Extension. We have a ground floor setup at C-1-A-140 and 151. It’s located in Gali Number 15, which is part of Harphool Vihar in the Baprola area. Being on the ground floor is great because it makes it easy for anyone to stop by without dealing with stairs. The street outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, so we’re always mopping the floor. We focus on self-support, which basically means we help people stand on their own two feet. It’s not complicated work, but it takes a lot of time and patience. The office is spread across two units, so we have a bit more room than some of the other places nearby. We have some old desks we bought second-hand and a lot of metal cupboards for all our files. There’s a ceiling fan in every room, but they make a bit of a clicking noise. Nobody seems to mind though. Baprola is a bit far out for some, but it’s where we are needed most. We don't have a big sign, just the address on the door. People find us anyway. We spend our days meeting with folks and trying to sort out their problems. It’s a busy life, but we like the routine of it. We’ve been here for a while and the locals know who we are.
