If you ever walk through the Janakpuri District Centre, you might have noticed the Vishwadeep Tower standing there. Our workspace is up on the UG 5 level. It is a very busy spot with people constantly coming and going for all sorts of errands. Our office is usually cluttered with blueprints and heavy samples of tiles or bricks. We spend about half our time here and the other half out at various construction sites where the real noise happens. Building things is not always pretty or clean. It involves a lot of grit and just waiting around for cement to dry in the Delhi heat. We started A M Construction & Interiors because we simply like building things from the ground up. It is a good feeling to see a bare plot or a gutted room eventually become something solid and useful. We do not use any fancy words to describe what we do every day. It is mostly about making sure the walls are straight and the plumbing does not leak after we leave. Sometimes we have to stay late when a deadline is breathing down our necks. The tea guy downstairs knows our order by heart at this point. We deal with contractors and laborers all day long, which gets tiring, but seeing a finished house makes it feel okay. Our desks stay covered in dust from the samples we bring back. (239 words)
