You can find us right in the heart of Lal Bazar in Gawanaha. It’s a very busy market area, so there is always the sound of vendors shouting and vehicles honking right outside our doors. People often come in to see us while they are out doing their weekly shopping or running errands in the bazaar. The hospital is a bit of a landmark in this part of Gawanaha because it’s been here for quite some time. Inside, it’s usually a bit chaotic with people waiting for their names to be called. We have a few different rooms for examinations and a small area where people can sit while they wait. It’s not the most modern building, and the tiles on the floor are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic over the years. We see everything from minor scrapes to people who are quite ill and need to stay for a few days. The staff is mostly local people who understand the rhythm of Lal Bazar. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to rely on the generator, which makes a lot of noise. We just take things one patient at a time and try to keep the queues moving as fairly as we can. It’s a practical place for practical people. We don't try to be anything we're not, just a local hospital helping the folks who live and work around the bazaar.
