Harshit Kala Foundation

Harshit Kala Foundation is located in Killa Mohallah, which is in the Bettiah area of West Champaran. Neeta Mishra is the one in charge at this location. Killa Mohallah is an old part of town with a lot of character and narrow streets that can be a bit of a headache to drive through. Our office is in a simple building that fits right in with the rest of the neighborhood. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local people who are interested in keeping things going. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and we don’t really follow a strict corporate dress code or anything like that. Most days you’ll find us just sitting around and talking about the projects we have going on. It’s a very quiet place for the most part, except when the local kids are playing outside in the alley. We have a lot of books and papers scattered around because we are always looking into new things to do. We don’t really do much advertising because everyone in Bettiah seems to know everyone else anyway. People just hear about Neeta and the work we are doing and they stop by to see if they can help or if they need something. It’s a very organic way of running a foundation. We are just trying to keep busy and do something meaningful for the community in West Champaran, even if we are just a small group working out of an old neighborhood.
