Skyweave Llp is based at Fathima Manzil right on College Road in Puzhamudi. Being on the road to the college means there is always a lot of activity outside our windows, with students walking by and buses stopping all the time. Kalpetta is a beautiful part of Wayanad, though it does rain quite a lot, which makes things a bit damp in the office sometimes. We work on the weaving side of things, mostly focusing on the fabrics and the designs that come through here. It is not a massive operation, just a small group of us at 23/145 who know the trade. We spend our days looking at patterns and talking to the people who do the actual weaving. Sometimes the shipments are late because the mountain roads get blocked, but that’s just life in the hills. We don’t really do the whole corporate thing with suits and meetings. Usually, we are just sitting around the main table with some tea, trying to figure out the next batch of work. The office at Adiland is comfortable enough, and we have been here long enough that the walls are covered in samples and old calendars. It’s a steady kind of life, and we don't have many complaints. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing, one day at a time, until the sun goes down over the hills.
