Our place is located in a quiet part of Wayanad, specifically in Nadavayal. The business is called Ramis Export Traders (Opc) Private Limited and we operate out of Keedakkatt in Nelliyambam. Being up here in the hills of Kerala makes a difference in how we do things. Panamaram is the nearest main area people recognize. Since this is an OPC, it is a pretty small setup, mostly just one person handling the core decisions with some help. We deal with the local products that come out of this region. Wayanad has a lot of crops and things that people elsewhere want, so we try to bridge that gap. The office is not anything special to look at. It is basically a room where we keep our files and manage the logistics of getting goods from the farms to the export point. There is a lot of driving involved because the roads around here can be winding and slow. We spend a lot of time talking to local growers and figuring out the best timing for harvests. It gets rainy here quite often, which sometimes slows down the transport, but we manage. We are not a big corporation with hundreds of staff. It is just a local business trying to make sure the quality stays okay and the shipments go out on time. We have learned a lot about the export rules over the years by just doing the work ourselves every day.
