Mcleod'S English School

Mcleod'S English School is up in Poomala, near Sulthan Bathery. It’s a nice area with a lot of greenery around us. The school is part of the local landscape here, and we serve the families living in this part of Wayanad. Being in Poomala means it’s a bit quieter than the main town center of Sulthan Bathery, which helps the kids stay focused on their books. The building is a simple structure that has seen many groups of students pass through its doors over the years. We teach in English, and you can hear the kids practicing their speech in the hallways. The teachers here are mostly from the surrounding villages. They walk or take the bus to get to work every morning. We have basic classrooms with benches and blackboards. The playground is just a patch of open ground where the children play football or run around when the weather is good. It can get quite misty here in the mornings, making the school look a bit hidden until the sun comes out. We don't have fancy facilities, just the things needed for a basic education. Parents often stop by the gate to chat with the staff about their kids. It’s a community sort of place where everyone pretty much knows each other. We just keep things moving along day by day.
