Kamal Rice Mill

If you head out toward Omanur Taluka, you will find us pretty easily. Kamal Rice Mill is situated just nearby. We have been processing rice for the local farmers around here for as long as I can remember. It is a big operation in terms of the work we do, but we keep the actual business side of things very simple. The mill itself is a large shed where the husking and cleaning happen. It is always loud because of the engines, but that is the sound of work getting done. We do not have a formal address with a house number, everyone just knows us as the mill near the taluka. We get a lot of tractors pulling in and out throughout the day, especially after the harvest season. That is when we are at our busiest, working late into the night to keep up with the demand. The yard can get quite muddy when it rains, so you have to watch where you step. We are not interested in making the place look like a showroom. It is a functional space for a functional job. We take the rice, we process it, and we send it back out. That is the long and short of it. We take pride in just being a reliable part of the local farming scene here. It’s a lot of manual labor, but someone has to do it.
