About Jiwatode Dal Mill – Food & Beverages in Washim
Jiwatode Dal Mill is located out in Village Morley, on Plot No 136/138. It is a quiet village for the most part, except for when our machines are running. We process different kinds of pulses and lentils here. The mill is a big, open building with lots of machinery and sacks of grain piled up to the ceiling. It is hard work and it gets very dusty, but that is just how the business is. Morley is a small place, so everyone knows where the mill is. We hire a few people from around the village, so it feels like a close group of people working together. We don’t have a fancy front office; it’s just a corner we partitioned off so we can keep our ledgers and take calls from customers. The yard is usually full of trucks coming in to pick up the finished dal to take to the markets. We spend most of our time making sure the machines are running correctly and that the quality of the dal is good. There isn’t any corporate ladder or anything like that here, just us and the daily work. Sometimes we have to deal with the rain making the village roads a bit muddy, but we manage to keep things moving. It’s a simple life, and we focus on producing good food for people. We’ve been on this plot for a while and the village kids sometimes hang around. It’s a peaceful spot.
