Vidarbha Green Organic Food Products & Marketing is run from Village Taroda in the Wardha district. We are based at Rekhatai Haribhau Dhanorkar’s place. It’s a proper village setting. You can see the fields from the doorstep. It’s a lot different than the offices in the big cities. We deal with organic food, mostly just trying to get what the farmers grow out to the people who want it. The marketing side is just us talking to people and making connections. Wardha is a quiet place, but we stay busy. Rekhatai keeps everything organized. We have a small area for storing the products before they get shipped out. The air is cleaner here, but the work is still tough. We don't have a big corporate structure. It's more like a family operation. We drink a lot of tea and spend time discussing the crops. Sometimes the rain messes with the transport, as the village roads can get muddy. We just wait for it to dry and then get back to work. There are no fancy meetings or PowerPoint presentations. Just phone calls and notebooks. We think what we are doing is important, but we don't feel the need to shout about it. It’s just about getting good food to the market. Maharashtra is a big state, and we are just one small part of it in Taroda. We've been doing this for several years now and the local farmers know us well.
