Umesh Rice

We’re out here in Nagzari village, not far from the Durga Ji Mandir. It’s a quiet place in the Deoli taluka of Wardha. Umesh Rice has been around for a good while now. We deal with the local harvest from the fields around us. The rhythm of the place depends on the season. When the rice comes in, we’re all very busy and things get a bit chaotic. When it’s off-season, things slow down a lot. The post office is nearby, so we see people coming and going for their mail or to pay bills. It’s a traditional setup. We don't have fancy office buildings or big signs. It's mostly about the grain and the farmers who bring it in to us. We know most people in the village by name. It’s that kind of close-knit place. The air is clean out here, which is nice for working. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when the rains are too heavy for the dirt roads to handle. But we manage one way or another. We just focus on getting the rice sorted and ready. It’s hard work, but it’s what we’ve always known. We aren't trying to be some big industrial giant. We just provide what the local area needs from us. If you’re passing through Wardha and end up near the temple, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s a straightforward life, centered around the land and the crops.
