You can find us in Warasiguda, where we have been running Himalaya Travel for quite some time. It is a small office, mostly just a couple of desks, some old maps on the walls, and a lot of brochures about buses and trains. We spend most of the day on the phone or on the computer trying to find the best routes for people. Warasiguda is a pretty lively neighborhood, so there is always someone walking past or popping in to ask about ticket prices. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the usual name on the door. It gets a bit cramped when more than two customers come in at once, but we make it work. We know a lot of the local families who travel back to their home villages during the holidays. It is nice to hear about where everyone is going. Sometimes we have to deal with cancellations or delays, which can be a headache, but that is the travel business for you. We just drink our tea and keep clicking through the booking sites. It isn't a glamorous job, but we like helping people get to where they need to be. We are just regular people working in a regular shop, trying to make travel a bit easier for our neighbors. There's always some new schedule to learn or a different route to figure out. We just take it one booking at a time.
