The morning starts very early for us out here in Redlawada. When you are running a poultry and feed unit like this one at H.No:1-22-13-1, you don't really get to sleep in late. The birds are awake and they need tending to right away. Nekkonda is a place where people understand hard work and the smell of the farm. It is not a clean or quiet job, but it is what we know. We spend our days checking on the feed levels and making sure the sheds are in decent shape. The dust from the grain gets everywhere, even in your tea if you aren't careful. It’s a practical life. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy lobby for visitors. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in our working clothes, probably a bit tired but still busy. The weather really dictates how our week goes. If it’s too hot, we worry about the birds. If it’s raining, the logistics of moving feed get a lot harder. It’s just us and the animals out here. We’ve been part of this landscape for a while now and we don’t plan on changing how we do things. It is about the rhythm of the seasons and the cycle of the livestock. It’s a tough way to make a living sometimes, but it feels right to be working with the land and the animals directly.
