Subani Chicken Shop

The day starts very early for us at Subani Chicken Shop. We are located at H. No -2-24/2 in Jayapuram, right in the Narsimhulapeta area. By the time the sun is actually up, we have already been working for a couple of hours. The shop is simple, with a tiled floor that we wash down multiple times a day to keep everything clean. There are several wooden blocks for cutting and scales for weighing the meat. Customers from the Jayapuram neighborhood start showing up as soon as they see the shutters go up. Some want specific cuts and others just want whatever is freshest. It gets quite loud with the sound of the fans and the people talking all at once. We don't have much space, so everyone ends up standing close together while they wait. Narsimhulapeta is a lively place, and we are right in the thick of it. Sometimes the delivery birds arrive late and we have to scramble to get everything ready for the morning rush. Our hands stay busy all day, and there isn't much time for sitting down until the afternoon when things finally quiet down. We have a small radio in the corner that plays local music while we work. It’s hard physical labor, and your back usually hurts by the time you close up, but that is the way a chicken shop runs.
