Our workshop, Sri Sai Wood Works, is located in Kothurjenda over in Hanamkonda. You can usually hear the sound of the saws before you even see the door. There is always sawdust on the floor and the smell of fresh timber in the air, which I have grown to like over the years. We stay pretty busy at 4-4-192, mostly working on whatever projects come our way from the local people in Warangal. It is not a very big shop but we have all our tools where we need them. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we have too many pieces of wood piled up waiting to be cut. We just take it one day at a time. The heat in Warangal can be quite a lot during the summer, so we start very early in the morning to get the heavy work done before noon. Our neighbors in Kothurjenda are good people and we often help each other out with things. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything, people just see our work and come by the shop to talk. It is a honest way to make a living, working with your hands. Sometimes things go wrong or a machine breaks down, but we just fix it and carry on. It’s just how it is when you run a small wood shop. We are happy being right here in the middle of Hanamkonda doing what we do.
