Sri Ram Concrete Schwing Unit

Out here in Siddapur, things are usually a bit slower than the main city, but at Sri Ram Concrete Schwing Unit, it stays pretty loud. We are located at H. No. 2-24 in the Hasanparthy area of Warangal District. Concrete work isn’t exactly clean or quiet. There’s always the sound of engines and the smell of grease and heavy machinery. We spend a lot of time maintaining the Schwing units because they take a lot of beating from the daily work. The yard is full of equipment and sometimes it feels like we are just moving piles of heavy stuff from one side to the other. Most of the guys here are from the local villages nearby. We wear old clothes because there is no point in trying to stay clean when you’re around wet cement and oil all day. It’s a rough environment but we’ve gotten used to the noise. When the sun goes down, we finally get to turn the machines off and the silence feels a bit strange. We usually sit around for a few minutes before heading home to wash the grit off our faces. It isn’t the kind of job you see in movies, it’s just heavy lifting and making sure the equipment doesn’t break down in the middle of a project. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the neighbors know us by the sound of the trucks coming in and out of the gate.
