Somaiah Milk Products

Out here in Bodlada, specifically at H. No -1-33 in Nellikudur, is where Somaiah Milk Products operates. We deal with milk and things made from it every single day. My family has been involved in this kind of work for a long time. It starts very early, usually before the sun is even up. We have to get the milk ready and make sure everything is clean. Life in Nellikudur is quiet, and our place at Bodlada reflects that. We don't have big machines or a huge factory setup. It's more of a local operation where we do things by hand or with simple tools. Some days we have plenty of milk, and other days it’s a bit less depending on the season and the animals. We sell to the people nearby and sometimes folks from the next village come over. It’s hard work because you can't really take a day off. Cows don't stop producing milk just because it’s a holiday. My hands are usually busy with buckets and filters. We keep the place as cool as we can, though it gets tough in the summer months. I don't spend much time in an office; I'm usually out back or near the entrance. The house number 1-33 is easy to spot if you’re walking down the main path. We just try to provide what people need for their tea and cooking every morning. It is a humble living but we are used to the routine and the work. That’s how it goes here.
