Sarojana Farming

Sarojana Farming is located out in Nagurlapally, which is part of the Madannapet area near Narsampet. Our house is H. No:-1-159 and the fields are right nearby. We spend most of our mornings out there before the sun gets too hot. It is a family thing, really. We grow what we can based on the season and the rain. Some years are better than others, depending on the weather and the water levels in the well. We don't use a lot of big machines, mostly just doing things by hand or with a bit of help from local workers when harvest time comes. Life on the farm is quiet and follows the rhythm of the crops. We wake up early, check the soil, and see what needs watering. There is always something to do, whether it’s pulling weeds or fixing a fence that’s fallen over. We sell what we grow to the local markets in Warangal or to people who stop by the gate. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a piece of land that we look after every single day. The dirt gets under your fingernails and the work is tiring, but seeing the green shoots come up makes it worth it. We live simply and work the land we have. We keep a few tools in the shed and hope for good prices when we go to town.
