The shop, S S Iron Cement Traders, sits right on Khammam Road in the Shambunipet area. If you know where the Nagamayya Arch is, we are just a short distance from there. It’s a busy spot in Warangal. We deal with iron rods and bags of cement every single day. The yard is usually full of materials piled up. It gets pretty loud when the trucks are unloading, especially in the mornings. We’ve been at this House No 19-9-443 for quite some time now. Dealing with construction materials is a heavy job. You spend a lot of time checking numbers and making sure the right grade of iron is ready for the customers. My hands are usually stained with rust or dust, but that’s just part of the trade. People from around the neighborhood stop by to ask about prices or to see if we have enough stock for their house projects. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk and the ledgers. The sun gets hot on Khammam Road, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when multiple orders come in at once, but we manage to sort it out. It’s just us here, making sure the local builders have what they need to keep working. It isn't a glamorous business, but it's what we know how to do to make a living.
