Rangarao Car Services is just a small place here at H. No -3-92 in Apparajpalle. We spend most of our days with grease on our hands and the sound of engines running in the background. It is a quiet part of Gudur, really. Most people around here know where we are because of the cars parked out front. We aren't a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a workshop where things get fixed. Sometimes the parts take a while to arrive from Warangal city, and we just have to wait. That is how it goes. My hands are usually stained with oil by ten in the morning. We open up early because the sun gets hot fast. If a neighbor has a problem with their engine, they just drop by. We don't have a big front desk or a waiting room with a TV. People usually just stand around and talk while we look under the hood. It’s practical work. There’s always a bit of a mess with tools lying around, but we know where everything is. The roof gets quite loud when it rains, making it hard to hear each other, so we just focus on the bolts and the belts. It’s been this way for a while now. We just keep the tools clean and try to get the work finished before the sun goes down over the fields nearby.
