If there is a wedding or a festival in Gudur, you will probably hear us before you see us coming. We are based out of Shivanayak Thanda. Our shed is full of big speakers, wires, and amplifiers that we have collected over a very long time. It is a noisy business, but we like it that way. We spend a lot of our time loading these heavy boxes onto the back of a van and driving out to different villages around Warangal. Sometimes the power goes out in the middle of a party, and we have to scramble to get the generator started in the dark. It is a lot of sweat and lifting heavy gear under the hot sun. People want loud music for their celebrations, and we make sure they get what they asked for. We do not have fancy uniforms; we just wear what is comfortable for moving equipment and getting dirty. My cousins work with me, and we have learned how to fix the wiring ourselves when things break during a show. The speakers get a bit dusty from the road, but they still kick out a good sound when we plug them in. We usually get home very late at night, or early in the morning, with our ears ringing from the bass. It is not a quiet life, but it is fun to see people dancing to the songs we play. We just take the bookings.
