R J Photo Studio

The studio is at Shop No. 38, up on the 2nd Floor of the C. P Reddy Complex in Hanamkonda. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you’re here, it’s quiet compared to the street noise down in Warangal. We have a couple of backdrops set up and some big lights that get pretty hot during the summer months. Most of the day is spent taking passport photos for students or editing pictures from a wedding we went to over the weekend. The computer desk is always a mess of memory cards and cables. We keep some old frames on the wall to show what we can do, but mostly people just want their digital files these days. Sometimes families come in all dressed up for a portrait, and it’s a bit of a struggle to get the kids to sit still and look at the camera for more than a second. We’ve been in this complex for a while, so we know the security guards and the guys in the other offices quite well. The view from the window isn't much, just the tops of other buildings and the busy road below. We do a lot of printing too, and the smell of the ink is something you just get used to after a while. It’s a small operation, just a place for people to get their memories captured or their documents sorted for an application. We try to keep the cameras clean and the batteries charged, and that is about it.
