Pushpalatha Chicken Center is right here in Ashok Nagar, Pakhal. We are at H. No -7-84/8. It’s a busy little spot, especially on Sundays. We start very early in the morning before the sun is even up. The birds arrive and we have to get everything ready for the morning rush. It’s a noisy place. We have a few chopping blocks and some scales. It isn't a supermarket. It's a proper local meat shop. People come here because they know us. They like to see the chicken being prepared right in front of them. We keep things clean as much as we can, but it’s a tough job. The floor gets wet. There are feathers sometimes. My wife helps me with the accounts and the customers. We’ve been in Khanapur for a while. Most of the people living around Ashok Nagar are our regulars. We know what they like. Some want more legs, some want liver. We try to accommodate everyone. We don't have a delivery bike or anything. You just come to the counter and we pack it in newspaper or plastic. It’s how we’ve always done it. By the afternoon, we are usually sold out. Then we clean up and get ready for the next day. It’s a simple business but it keeps us busy. We just focus on getting fresh supply to our neighbors every single day.
