Mounika Poultry Farm

Mounika Poultry Farm is located out at 3-46 in Nagaram, which is part of the Venkatapur area near Parkal. It is a quiet place mostly, except for the birds. Running a poultry farm means waking up before the sun is even thinking about coming up. There is always something to do, like checking the feed or making sure the water lines aren't clogged up. It is a lot of manual labor and your clothes usually end up smelling like the farm by noon. We have been out here for several years now. It started small and stayed pretty much the same size because we like being able to manage it ourselves without too much trouble. We sell eggs and birds to the local markets and sometimes people just drive out here to buy directly from us. The road can be a bit bumpy depending on the season, especially when it rains hard around Parkal. We don't have any fancy technology, just the sheds and a lot of daily chores. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if it is tiring. My kids sometimes help out after school, though they complain about the smell sometimes. It is just a regular farm life for us in Nagaram. We don't do any big advertising, word of mouth usually does the trick for the folks living nearby. We just keep our heads down and take care of the birds every single day.
