Manikanta Enterprises

Our place is at 2-83 in Laxmipur. It is a quiet part of Duggondi and things move a bit slower out here than in the cities. Manikanta Enterprises is basically just a room with high shelves and a counter where we talk to folks. We keep things very basic. The building is old but it stays dry during the rains. In the mornings, we sweep the front step and wait for the first visitors to show up. Sometimes it stays quiet for hours at a time. We spend that time organizing the stock or just sitting by the door watching the road. You can see the fields from here if you look out the back window. The address 2-83 is easy to find if you are familiar with this neighborhood. We do not use a computer system for our records. Everything is written down in thick paper registers. It feels more real that way even if the ink smears when it is humid. We have a single light bulb that flickers a bit but it works well enough for us. There is a wooden bench outside where the older men sometimes sit to rest for a while. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure the people who need things can find them here. It is just us doing our daily routine and making sure the doors stay open.
