Manga Travels

If you walk down the Main Road in Thorrur, you’ll find us at House Number 9-76/1. It’s a busy stretch of road and we see everyone passing by. Running a travel place here means we hear a lot of stories from people wanting to go somewhere else. Whether it’s someone needing a bus ticket to the next town or a family planning a bigger trip, they usually just walk in and sit on the plastic chairs for a bit. The fan hums over our heads and we try to keep the dust from the road off the desks. It’s a losing battle most days because of the trucks. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking schedules and making sure seats are actually available. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to tell people to come back in twenty minutes. They usually don't mind and go grab a tea nearby. We’ve been part of this village life for a while now. It’s not a big corporate setup with uniforms. It’s just us trying to help neighbors get where they need to go. When the rainy season hits, the main road gets messy, but we stay open anyway. We know which buses are reliable and which ones usually break down. That’s just the kind of practical stuff you learn sitting in this office year after year at Manga Travels.
