Laundry Shop

Our little shop is located over at H. No -1-97 in Adavi Rangapur, which is part of Duggondi in the Warangal area. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, though it gets a bit louder when all the machines are running at once. We’ve got several washers and some space for drying things out back when the weather is good. It gets really humid in here during the rainy season, so we have to be careful about how we hang things up. People from the village bring their heavy blankets and daily clothes because washing them by hand at home is just too much work. We spend a lot of time sorting through colors and checking pockets for loose change or pens. Usually, the floor is a bit wet, so you have to watch your step when you come inside. We have a small table where we fold everything once it’s dry. The iron is always hot, and the smell of detergent is everywhere. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We don’t have fancy signs or anything like that. Just the shop door and the piles of laundry waiting to be picked up. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit on the bench outside until it comes back on. It’s a simple life here in Warangal, just keeping things clean for the neighbors. We try to finish everything before the sun goes down.
