Kumraswamy Farms

Living out here in Kothur, specifically at house 1-53/3, keeps a person busy. Kumraswamy Farms isn't some big operation with a lobby; it’s just the land I work near Khanapur. Warangal can get very hot, and out here in the fields, there isn't much shade unless you go sit under the big neem tree by the shed. I spend my mornings checking the irrigation lines because they always seem to leak when you aren't looking. My boots are always caked in mud, and I’ve given up on keeping the floor of the house clean. We mostly focus on what grows best in this Kothur soil, which takes a lot of patience. Some years the pests are bad and you lose a bit, other years everything goes right. It’s a bit of a gamble, really. I usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background while I work, just to keep the silence away. The house at 1-53/3 is where we store the seeds and the extra fertilizer bags. It’s a bit cluttered, but I know where everything is. Khanapur is a nice enough place, and the people around here are hardworking. We don't talk much about "missions" or anything like that. We just wake up, do the work, and hope the crop comes in healthy so we can pay the bills. That is the reality of farming for us every single day.
