Kommalu Farming

Our farm is located at H. No -1-87/1 in Rangapuram. We spend most of our time out in the fields near Kanapura. It is a lot of outdoor work, depending on what the season is. We grow whatever works best for the soil here. Some years the rain is good and everything grows well, other years it is much harder. We do not use any high-tech machinery, mostly just traditional ways of farming that we learned over the years. Our days start very early, usually while it is still dark, so we can get work done before it gets too hot. There is always something to do, whether it is weeding, planting, or fixing the fences. We have a few animals too that need looking after every single day. It is not an easy life, and your hands are always dirty, but we like being outside. We sell what we grow to the local markets or to people who come by the house. We do not have a big corporate office or a sales team. It is just us working the land. We have lived in this area for a long time and our family has always been involved in farming. Sometimes we worry about the crop prices or the pests, but that is just part of the job. We just keep going and hope for a decent harvest each year. It is a simple existence, but it is what we know and how we spend our days.
