General Engineering Works

We are based out of Plot No. 12-164/85 in Kiash Guga. General Engineering Works is basically what the name says. We do a bit of everything when it involves metal and machines. Some days it is repair work, other days we are making something from scratch based on a rough sketch someone brought in. The shop is full of tools and grease. It can get pretty noisy with the grinding and welding going on. I usually have grease on my hands by ten in the morning. We don't have a big marketing team or a website that looks like a magazine. Most people find us because they know someone we helped before. The space isn't huge, but we make it work. We have a few lathes and a drill press that have seen better days but still run straight. It is just me and a couple of helpers most of the time. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the jobs we have lined up. Sometimes a part doesn't fit right and we have to start over, which is frustrating but that’s engineering. We stay here until the job is done. It is straightforward work for people who need things fixed or made properly. No big corporate meetings here, just us figuring out how to weld a frame or turn a piece of steel. It’s a bit messy but we like the process of building things.
