Kheerya D J Sounds

In Seetha Nagar, over in Gudur, life is pretty straightforward. Our address is H. No 6-19, and that’s where the Kheerya D J Sounds stuff stays. It’s a lot of speakers and amplifiers stacked up against the walls. We spend a lot of time in Warangal traveling from one village to the next for different events. The gear is heavy, and my back definitely feels it the next morning. It’s a practical kind of work. We don’t have any fancy uniforms or a big showroom. Most people just find us through word of mouth around the mandal. The house is usually full of music when we are testing a new setup. We have to keep an eye on the power surges because the electricity around here can be a bit temperamental. Sometimes we are out until three in the morning, then we have to unload everything back at the house. It’s a dusty job, especially when the wind kicks up in Seetha Nagar. We’ve got a couple of old fans to keep us cool while we work on the wiring. It’s not something everyone would want to do, but it’s what we know. We just take it day by day and hope the rain doesn't catch us with the speakers out in the open. Gudur is a decent place to live and work, really, once you get used to the noise and the odd hours.
