Karunakar Transport

If you look for us in Chelpur, you will find the office at 2-74. It is right in the Ghanpur Mulugu area and has been here for a good while. The space is small and mostly filled with old logbooks and spare parts tucked away in the corners. There is always a faint smell of diesel and old tires hanging around the yard. Karunakar Transport isn't a big corporate place with air conditioning or fancy carpets. It is a spot where drivers come to rest and talk about the road conditions. We have a few wooden chairs and a table that wobbles if you lean on it too much. Outside, the ground is mostly dirt and it turns into a muddy mess when the monsoon hits. We spend a lot of time on our phones checking to see where the vehicles are. Sometimes the network signal is bad and we have to step out onto the main road just to get a call through. It is a busy life but it mostly involves a lot of waiting and moving. We know the routes around this part of the country like the back of our hands. People from the village stop by to chat or share some tea. It is a simple operation and we like keeping it that way. We don't do any big advertising. We just focus on getting the trucks from one place to the next.
