Honey Bakers

Honey Bakers is a small shop near the Ayyappa Temple in Paidipally. If you are walking toward the temple in Warangal, you will probably see us. We start early in the morning when the air is still cool. The ovens get hot pretty fast and stay that way most of the day. It’s a simple bakery. We make bread and some sweets that people like to grab on their way home. There is nothing complicated about it. We use the same recipes we have had for years because they work. Sometimes the flour gets everywhere and the floor is a bit white, but that is a bakery for you. We don't have fancy packaging or a big marketing team. It’s just us behind the counter and in the kitchen. People come in for a chat as much as they do for the food. We know most of the neighbors by name. On festival days, it gets really crowded and we have to work twice as fast. We might run out of stuff by the afternoon if it's a busy weekend. We just keep going until the trays are empty. It’s a good life, even if our hands are always sticky or covered in dough. We like being part of the community here and seeing familiar faces every day. It isn't much, but it's ours and it keeps the family fed.
