Gurukul The School

Gurukul The School is located at House No 1-8-448/1 in the Balasamudram area of Warangal. It is a central spot in the city, so there is always something going on right outside our doors. The school building is a familiar sight to people living around Balasamudram. It has a bit of an older feel to it, not like those new glass buildings you see in the bigger cities. We have a main gate where the buses pull in every morning, and that is usually the loudest part of the day. Inside, the rooms are filled with old wooden desks and blackboards that have been wiped clean thousands of times. There is a small space for kids to play, but it is not exactly a massive stadium. Most of the teachers here have lived in Warangal their whole lives, so they know the families and the local shops nearby. The walls have some student drawings taped up, and the hallways can get a bit cramped when the classes change over. It is just a neighborhood school where people know your name. We deal with the usual problems like the heat in March and the noise from the nearby road, but we just get on with it. It is an unpretentious place that has been serving the local community for years without needing to shout about it or act like something it isn't. It is just a school in the heart of Warangal.
