Ganesh Kirana Store

People around Thimmapur know us well enough. We have been sitting here on Narsampet Road for years now, just across from the main stretch. It’s a simple kirana store, nothing fancy to look at. We keep the usual things like rice, dal, sugar, and those little packets of biscuits the kids like. The shop is a bit small, and sometimes the boxes pile up near the door when the delivery truck comes by in the morning. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually just sit near the front and wait for customers. My brother and I take turns behind the counter. We don't have a big staff or anything like that. If someone needs something specific, we try to get it in next time we go to the main market. The building 65-21 is old, and the paint is peeling a bit, but it does the job. Most of our customers are just neighbors who live down the street. We know their names and what they usually buy. It’s a quiet way to spend the day. We open up early because the laborers need their tea and smokes before they head out to work. By the time evening comes, we are tired, but it is good work. We don't bother with fancy displays or lights. As long as the shelves are full and the scale is working, we are happy enough.
