Viswateja Cotton Industries

Navayuga Colony is where you’ll find us, at H No 11/23/2390/B. It is a quiet enough place except when the machines are running. We deal with cotton, so there is always white fluff floating around in the air. It gets on your clothes and in your hair by the end of the shift. We’ve been running Viswateja Cotton Industries for some years now. It started small and we just stayed in the colony because it's convenient for the workers. Dealing with raw cotton is a messy business. You have to keep it dry and clean or the whole batch is ruined. We spend a lot of time just checking the stuff and making sure everything is moving through the rollers correctly. Sometimes the power goes out and we all have to just sit around and wait for it to come back so we can finish the day’s work. It's not a big corporate factory, just a local industry where everyone knows each other. My family stays involved in the daily stuff. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people who need what we make already know where we are. We just try to keep the machines oiled and the cotton moving. It’s a lot of physical work, especially in the heat, but it keeps us busy. If you walk past the house, you'll definitely see the white bits on the ground. It is just a regular life here for us.
