Chokkaiah Tent House

Chokkaiah Tent House is located in Bhathullapalli, over in the Kothagudam area of Warangal. If there is a wedding or a local function nearby, you will usually see us around. We keep all the poles, heavy fabrics, and chairs stored at our place. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things in and out of the truck. The yard is often full of folded tents and stacks of metal frames. When the season is busy, we are barely home. We are out in the sun setting things up or tearing them down late at night. My hands are rough from handling the ropes and the metal. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We don't have a big office, just our house where people come to book for their events. We've been doing this in Bhathullapalli for a long time. The local families know us and we know them. Sometimes the wind makes it hard to get the tents just right, but we’ve learned how to manage over the years. We use old trucks that have seen better days, but they still run. It’s a family business and everyone chips in when there’s a big event. We don't bother with fancy brochures. Most of our work comes from people seeing our tents at a neighbor's party. We spend a lot of time cleaning the fabrics after a dusty event. It is a tiring business but it keeps the food on the table for our family.
