My shop is at house 5-35 in Gollapalle, Nallabelly. It is mostly just me and a helper working on the autos that come in. We get a lot of grease on our clothes every day. That is just how it is when you are fixing engines. The tools are scattered around but I know where everything is. People bring their three-wheelers when the engine starts making a funny noise or the brakes feel loose. I’ve been living in Gollapalle my whole life, so I know most of the drivers. We talk about the crops and the rain while I work. It’s a small space, and in the summer it gets really stuffy inside. I usually move the work outside under the shade of the tree when I can. Sometimes parts are hard to get and we have to wait for a bus to bring them from the bigger town. I don't have a website or anything like that. If someone has a breakdown, they just find a way to get the auto here. I like working with my hands and solving the problems with the motors. It’s noisy with the sounds of the road right there, but you get used to it. My hands are always stained black from the oil, no matter how much I wash them. It’s a basic life here in Nallabelly, just fixing what is broken and keeping the local autos running so people can get around.
