Balaji Chicken Center

The shop is located at H. No -2-48/5 in Rangapuram, which is right in the Kesamudram area. We’ve been operating out of this small space for a good while now. It’s a busy little corner, especially on the weekends when everyone wants to cook something special. I usually get in before the heat gets too bad to set things up. The knives need sharpening and the weighing scale needs to be wiped down. It’s a lot of physical work, standing on your feet all day and dealing with customers who are often in a hurry. I try to keep the place organized, but when it gets crowded, it’s hard to stay on top of everything. The floor gets messy and the smell of the birds is just part of the environment here. You get used to it after a few days. I know most of the people who come in by their first names or at least their faces. We talk about local news while I’m working. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. No one expects anything fancy from a chicken center, just honest weight and a fair price. Sometimes I think about fixing the front gate or getting a better fan, but then the day gets busy and I forget all about it. It’s a routine that keeps me occupied from sunrise until the sun goes down behind the trees near the village edge. I just try to do my part for the neighbors.
