Asha Jyothi Travels

We set up Asha Jyothi Travels over in Padamati Thanda a few years back. The office is actually just part of the house at H. No. 2-34 in Madhapur village. It’s a quiet area in Devaruppula Mandal, so we spend a lot of time on the phone or out on the road. Most of our work involves driving people to the city or taking families to weddings and festivals. We have a few cars that we try to keep in decent shape, though the dusty roads around here make that a constant battle. The tires get worn out fast, and there's always a new scratch from a bush or a stray stone. We aren't like those big travel agencies you see in the city with uniforms and computer systems. It’s more about knowing who needs a ride and when. Sometimes we have to wake up at three in the morning to get someone to the station on time. It’s tiring work, but it pays the bills. My family helps out with the bookings and keeping the vehicles clean when they come back. We know most of the people in the Thanda, so news travels fast if we do a good job or if a car breaks down. We just try to get people where they need to go without too much fuss. It’s a simple life running a travel business in a small village, and we’ve gotten used to the long hours and the constant driving.
