My mechanic shop is located at house number 1-26 in the Ashok Nagar area of Pakhala, Khanapur. It’s not a big fancy garage, just a space where I keep my tools and work on whatever vehicles people bring in. Most of the time I’m fixing up motorcycles or scooters, but I can handle small cars too if they aren't too complicated. My hands and clothes are almost always stained with oil and grease, which is just how it is when you’re working on engines all day. The floor is concrete and has plenty of marks from years of repairs. I have a few old tires and spare parts leaning against the walls. There isn't a proper waiting room, so people usually just stand around or sit on a bench outside while I take a look at their machines. It’s right by the road, so it can get pretty dusty and noisy with the traffic passing through Khanapur. Sometimes I have to order parts from the bigger town, and that can take a few days to arrive, but my regulars are patient. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know most of the people who come by. It’s honest work, and I enjoy the challenge of figuring out why an engine won’t start or why a brake is squeaking. It’s just me and my tools here every day.
