Ailaiah Chicken Center

We run a chicken shop in the Khanapuram area, specifically at Manubothulagadda. It is a local spot where people from the neighborhood come to get their meat. We open up pretty early in the morning to get everything ready. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have the counters and the equipment we need, and that's about it. It gets very busy on Sundays when everyone wants chicken for their big family lunch. We spend most of the day cleaning and prepping. It’s hard on the hands and you’re on your feet the whole time. My family helps out when it gets crowded. We know most of the people who walk through the door. They've been coming here for years. We don't do any advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. Sometimes we run out of stock earlier than expected if there’s a local festival. We just try to keep the place clean and serve everyone who comes in. It’s a simple life running a chicken center. The smell of the market is something you get used to after a while. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop, just a regular one for the people living nearby. We also have to deal with the heat in the summer, which makes things a bit tougher. It is just the way things go here.
