Sujatha Pindi Girni

Sujatha Pindi Girni is my flour mill located at H. No -3-14 in Kothapelli. We are in the Bhupathipet area of Gudur, Warangal. The main thing you notice when you walk in is the fine layer of white powder that covers everything from the light bulbs to the rafters. The machine makes a very loud humming noise that fills the whole street when it is running. People from all over Kothapelli bring their grain in plastic buckets or cloth bags. I spend my day pouring the grain into the top and watching the fresh flour come out of the spout at the bottom. It is always warm to the touch when it first comes out. My clothes are always dusty and I have to wear a cloth over my nose sometimes so I don't breathe in too much of it. The mill is a simple place with a concrete floor and a few benches for people to wait. When the harvest season comes, we are extra busy and the machine runs from early morning until late at night. Sometimes the belt on the motor slips and I have to stop everything to tighten it up while the customers wait and chat. It is a good place to hear all the local talk and find out what is happening in the other villages nearby. We have been doing this for years and it is just our way of life.
