Sri Ganesh Kiranam And General Stores is a small shop located at H. No. 45-2-47/1 in Gorrekunta village. We are part of the Geesugonda mandal. It’s a basic general store where we keep all the things families need daily. We have sacks of rice, pulses, soaps, and snacks for the kids. It’s the kind of place where people stop by on their way home to grab a liter of oil or some salt. We’ve lived here and run this store for quite some time now. It’s not a big supermarket with aisles; it’s more of a counter-service type of place. You tell us what you need and we get it from the back or the shelves. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the road right outside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and packets. Sometimes the neighbors just hang around and talk for a bit while they do their shopping. We know most of the people who come in by name since it’s a small village area. We don't have a computer system or anything; we just write things down in a ledger if someone is buying on credit until the end of the month. It’s a quiet life mostly, just opening the shutters early in the morning and closing up after dark. We try to keep everything in stock so nobody has to go all the way into the bigger town for simple things.
