We have our flour mill set up at H. No -3-62/1 in Itikalapally, which is part of the Narsampet area near Warangal. It is a busy little spot, especially in the mornings when everyone brings their grain to get ground up for their daily needs. The machines are old but they still work perfectly fine as long as we keep them oiled and clean. The whole place usually has a thin layer of white dust over everything, no matter how much we sweep up. That is just the way a flour mill is. My father started this years ago and I took over after I finished school. We see the same faces every week. People come in with bags of wheat or chillies and we get to work. It gets quite loud when all the motors are running at once. We don't have any fancy packaging or a big store window to show off. People just bring their own containers or bags and wait while we finish the grinding. It is a simple life for us. We close up for a bit in the afternoon when it gets too hot and then open back up until the sun goes down. Itikalapally is a nice place to live and work. We know everyone's family history and what is going on in the village. It is more than just a job for us, it is how we stay connected to our neighbors.
