About Komuraiah Flour Mill – Food & Beverages in Warangal Urban
The flour mill is located at house number 4-102/1 in the Banjara area of Nellikudur. My name is Komuraiah and I’ve been running this mill for years now. It’s a noisy place once the machines start up, and there is always a thin layer of white dust over everything. You can smell the fresh grain from the street when we are working. People from all over Warangal come by with bags of wheat or chillies that need grinding. The machine is old and sometimes it makes a strange clanking sound, so I have to stop and tighten a few bolts. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving the big sacks around. My back usually aches by the end of the day, but it’s good work. I keep the mill open from early morning until the sun goes down. Most of the neighbors come by not just for the flour but to chat for a bit. We have a small bench outside the door where people sit while they wait. The electricity can be a bit temperamental in Nellikudur, so when the power goes out, we all just sit and wait for it to come back on. It gives us a break, I suppose. I don't have any staff, just myself and sometimes my son helps out when he is home from school. It’s just a basic mill for the local folks who need their grain processed for their daily meals.
