Jayamma Mutton & Chicken Shop

This shop is in Khanapur at H. No -2-19. It is a small place where we sell mutton and chicken every day. We have to get up very early to get the fresh stock ready before the customers start showing up. There is a lot of chopping involved, and the sound of the knives is something you get used to. We keep the counters clean, but it is a meat shop, so there is always a lot of washing to do. The floor is usually wet from the cleaning we do throughout the day. People in Khanapur know where we are and they come by for their weekly meat. We have a small fridge for the chicken and some hooks for the mutton. It gets quite busy on Sundays when everyone is making a special meal. We don't have fancy packaging, just the regular bags. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside the shop, and people have to wait outside on the street. We talk to the customers about what cut of meat they want. It is a very direct business. We don't have any employees, just a couple of us working here. By the end of the day, we are pretty tired and just want to go home. It’s a simple shop and we’ve been doing this for a long time now. We just focus on getting the work done and preparing for the next morning.
