Somakka Chicken Shop

I've been running Somakka Chicken Shop here in Ravirala for quite some time now. You can find us at house number 3-10, right in the middle of Nellikuduru. The day usually starts way before the sun is even up. I have to get everything ready for when the first people show up wanting fresh meat for their lunch. It’s a messy job, honestly. My hands are always busy with something, either cleaning up or getting the weights right on the scale. People from around the village stop by, mostly folks I’ve known for years. We talk about the weather or how the crops are doing while I get their order sorted. It gets pretty loud in here sometimes with the chickens and the fans going, but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to manage with what we have. It’s not a fancy place with big signs or anything like that. Just a small shop where we do our work and go home. I try to keep things clean, but in a chicken shop, there is always something to sweep up. It’s hard work on the legs, standing all day, but it’s what we do. If you are walking through Ravirala, you’ll probably see me sitting out front during the quiet hours in the afternoon. It is just a normal part of life here.
