Sambalaxmi Chicken Centre

This is the chicken shop at H. No -1-36 in Madigudem. We open up early because that is when people want their meat for lunch. It gets very busy on Sundays. You can hear the noise from down the street. We’ve been in Kothagudem for quite a while now. The shop isn't very large, just enough space for the counters and the birds. We keep everything as clean as we can, but it is a chicken shop, so there is always a lot going on. My family helps out during the holidays when everyone is buying extra. We know most of our customers by their names. They come in, chat for a bit while we get their order ready, and then they head home. It’s a simple life. We don't do any home delivery or anything like that. If you want chicken, you come to the shop and see what we have. Sometimes we run out before the sun goes down. That’s just a good day for us. We don't have a big sign with lights, just the name on the wall. People find us anyway. Madigudem is a small place, news travels fast. If the meat is fresh, they come back. If it's not, they don't. We make sure they keep coming back. It is hard work standing all day, but it pays the bills and we like seeing our neighbors every morning. It feels good to be part of the community here.
